Integrating Activity 2022

Artist Statement
I have been using the software Blender for almost 2 years now, and making this project was really an experience. I need to mention first that I am a weapon enthusiast. I like swords, knives and axes a lot, however, I do not enjoy guns, because guns do not have an artistic feel to them. That is to say, swords are made by a blacksmith, which is a form of art, while guns are made by machines. In all cases, I wished to make my project relating to weapons, because I am quite good at making them in Blender, and because it relates to the subject of cause and effect of the IA class. Weapons cause violence, and violence causes war. I wanted to create a scene that depicted a scene of war, a battle where the weapons have been abandoned. I chose to create a Japanese Dojo, because even if there are weapons that are depicted as not Asian in the scene, a battle in a place that is supposed to convey peace and relaxation is the perfect irony. At first, I wanted to make the scene more violent, with bloodshed on the walls and floors, but I thought to myself that a battle in which no one was armed was deep and conveyed more a feeling of isolation and emptiness. Overall, I had quite fun making this scene and I wish for more opportunities to create projects like this in the future.
